Friday, July 18, 2008 was an historic day in the global Jersey breeding community!
By a vote of 34 to 15, 49 Senators in the States of Jersey’s government voted to allow importation of semen from sires outside of the Island.
This overturns a ban of more or less two centuries!
It is anticipated that within a month cattle on the Island will be served with semen from other countries!
Many keen dairy farmers among the 29 milk producers still active on the Island look forward to using leading sires from around the world!
History has been made!
